Since 2005, Choices has been to over 100 schools from Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Illinois. Operating with a budget just under $200,000 before economic crisis hit, Choices put on its Grand Assembly of Schools at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, AZ. Over 40 schools were in attendance that saw Cedric Cebalos (Phoenix Suns) and Sharon Lechter (Rich Dad, Poor Dad) speak to them about Choices and why they should believe in themselves.
The Choices Empowerment message is delivered to students, grades 3 and up via school assembly, workshops, community events and follow up activities. Choices utilizes the arts (theater, film, creative expression) and athletics as a fun and entertaining way to introduce Choices to the student body. The assemblies feature a concert like performance with sound and lights, fun activities and a multi media presentation. The workshops are for parents and concerned adults and they teach them how to protect children from online predators and cyberbullies. When it comes time for schools and corporations to reach out to the community via school carnivals, fundraisers and other similar events the Choices program has the latest and most exciting interactive games and inflatables for all ages. It is a great way to speak to the community about what Choices is speaking to their youth about. Finally, the follow up activities that the Choices Program has center around key elements of their school assemblies and include tips on how to develop better, more effective study habits, creative development, physical fitness, nutrition, financial planning and more.
The Choices Educational Empowerment Program looks to motivate today’s youth into developing a stronger work ethic and creating a more positive vision of themselves so they can be more successful in school and in life. The main message of Choices is: U-KAN! U can do anything you believe and put your mind to if you, Know what you really want, make a plAn to get what you want and Never give up on U, because no matter the obstacle, no matter how bleak the situation may look, U-KAN!
